FEB. 16, 2009 -- The Saugatuck-Douglas Historical
Society's "Pub Party", an annual St. Patrick's Day dinner event open
to the public, has been scheduled for Saturday, March 14, from 6:30
to 9:30 p.m. at Coral Gables restaurant, 220 Water Street in
Saugatuck.
The party's traditional trip-raffle highlight
this year offers a three-night junket for two to Las Vegas,
including round-trip airfare from Grand Rapids, hotel accommodations
and airport transfers. One trip raffle ticket is included free with
each Pub Party ticket, and extra trip raffle tickets may be
purchased. New at this year's party will be a "50/50" fund-raiser
cash raffle in which the winner and the Society equally share the
prize, with total value determined by the number of 50/50 tickets
sold at $1 each.
Also highlighting the event are silent and live
auctions totaling nearly 50 offerings, including an installed home
security system, "getaways" on the Lake Michigan shore and in a UP
riverside log cabin, paintings by local artists, professional
home-decorating consultation, vintage Saugatuck postcards and a
variety of local gift certificates for goods and services.
Review of silent auction items opens at 6:30, and
dinner begins at 7:30, offering choice of a traditional corned beef
meal or a vegetarian option, with drinks available from a cash bar
throughout the evening.
Pub Party tickets are priced at $25 per person.
Extra raffle tickets cost $10 each or three for $25. Last date to
purchase party tickets is March 6; extra raffle tickets may be
purchased anytime prior to raffle. Tickets are available at Uncommon
Grounds, 127 Hoffman Street in Saugatuck, or Respite Cappuccino
Court, 48 Center Street in Douglas. Phone credit card purchases are
available through (269) 857-5751.
