JOHN WYNN

John Wynn and his wife, Mary, came from the land of the dykes in 1847 first locating at Rochester, N. Y., where occurred the death of Mrs. Wynn. Later, the father with his family of ten children, came to Allegan county, locating on a farm in Saugatuck township where he lived the remainder of his life. His oldest son, John, was born in The Netherlands in 1843— coming to America at the age of four and he grew to manhood in New York and Michigan and at the age of eighteen, in 1861 he answered the call of his adopted country enlisting in Co. C, Thirteenth Michigan Volunteer Infantry, serving until the close of the war, with a military record of which he could be proud. After the war, he bought a farm at eight dollars per acre, which continued his life's home.

He is survived by one son, John, and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Chamberlain.
